Dr. Michael was born and raised in Greer, South Carolina. After graduating as the valedictorian at Blue Ridge High School, he was awarded the Benjamin Wofford Scholarship to attend Wofford College in Spartanburg. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. Dr. Michael moved to Charleston for four years to attend the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. He graduated near the top of his class and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society. Dr. Michael’s desire to specialize in pediatric dentistry led him to complete a two-year residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
After finishing the program, he opened Foothills Pediatric Dentistry in July 2009 at their first location on the westside of Spartanburg. In January 2013, he moved the practice to their main location at North Grove Medical Park. In January 2016, he returned to the westside when he opened a satellite office on Reidville Rd. Dr. Michael is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. His wife Kelly is a counselor at North Grove Counseling Associates. They have three children, Kennedy, Vaughn, and Graham.
